Utah - Quail Creek State Park - Red Cliffs Recreation Area - Cedar City

Quail Creek State Park Washington County Utah.

This is man made reservoir.

Not much to see here but the Mountains and Mesa's are always interesting.

Red Cliffs Conservation Area

We drove through two small tunnels underneath the freeway to get there. The tunnel is not tall enough to accommodate our motorhome at 11' 9"

We drove through the campground and really liked it.

The campground is setup for a lot smaller motorhomes, travel trailers and tents.

We loved the Red Rock in the area.

Cedar City.

This is a Landlocked Lighthouse in Cedar City one of Kathy's oddities.

Nevada - Las Vegas RV Park

Pioneer saloon in Goodsprings Nevada.
An old bar and cafe with a lot of movies star history.

We thought we'd stop and have a beer, check the joint out.

Very rustic, tin ceilings and walls. We love those old stoves.

A lot of history about Clark Gable and Carol Lombard.

We went to, Bonnie Springs Ranch.

A gold mining community / slash ghost town now filled with a petting zoo, donkeys, cows, horse's, pony rides and these's little guys.

Red Rock National Conservation Area is in the same area.
Stock Photo

This is worth the drive, we've been here before when we had our Mini Cooper.

Today was a little overcast but you can still see the Red Rocks pop.

There's a lot to do here, hiking trails.
For more info click here.

Review - Las Vegas RV Park. The park itself is pretty nice.
At this time the park is about half full because a lot of people are headed north.
There are some full timers that reside in the park.
There are laundry facilities and a lot of the park is covered in asphalt.
The pool & spa are in very nice condition.
The dog park is all gravel and is split in the middle to keep those dogs separated if needed.

Well we're out of here, stocked up and ready to go.
Leeds, Utah is our next destination.
We're going to check out the national parks in that area.

Vista California. - Olive Avenue RV Resort

Olive Avenue RV Resort / Vista, California

Well we came back down to San Diego area so Kathy could help her mom recover from a broken hip.

I was in support mode.

So I stayed busy removing scratches from the motorhome

and scanning more pictures. Something I started before we retired.

Derek stop by we had some dinner and went over to visit with his mom and his grandma.

We went over to see Patty and Keith Herron and baby Alana,

Kathy's friends from work.

We had a real nice time.

Thanks for the wine, dinner, FIRE and good conversation.
It was fun.

Because we were in Vista, and it was within driving range,
we made it to Cal's retirement party in El Toro Ca.
Kathy and I got to hang out with a lot of friends from my work.

Mike, Cal, Dave, Don and Steve.
This is 5 out of the 6 guys from Villa Park Substation.
Tom couldn't make it.

The wifes
Don Lynda, Kathy, Melora and Mindy is single boys.

Cheers Cal !!!

Ok it’s time to get back on the road.
We're headed to St. George,Utah.
But first will make stop in Las Vegas to stock up on supplies and maybe see a show.

Review - The campground itself is still on a serious grade. That's never going to change. We would not have stopped here again except that it's super close to Kathy's mothers house.
They do supply you with blocks. They have WiFi and this time with the Verizon we're getting 4G LTE. Not much room here but they manage to add a picnic table. They do have a pool, spa and laundry facilities and are all super clean. It's a very well organized RV park.

Desert Hot Springs CA.

On the trip down to Desert Hot Springs we had to get SeeMore & the Toad washed, They were so dirty. I know we posted this on Facebook so here is a picture for the Blog.

Just rolling through the desert on our way back to San Diego, so we stop by in Desert Hot Springs and looked up a dear friend.

Kathy called Jeannine and she stopped by to see the rolling crib.

They had a little wine, I had a little JD and grilled a steak and chicken.

Jeannine is one of the luckiest people that we know. She wins all kinds of contests, prizes and tickets stuff like that so we asked her if she had won any tickets to the Moody Blues concert that was playing locally. She said no but she may known of a woman at work that actually had won a pair and she thought she was selling them.

The woman still had them and was selling them for $45 for the pair. That's a deal!.
We're going to be tripping in the Wayback Machine.
Thank you Jeannine, you hooked us up!

Later that night we're in the parking lot having a sip of the grape.
(The plan was to drink our own wine so we wouldn't have to buy theirs at the casino)
We walked around the casino drinking wine out of of Jack in the Box cups with straws.
Very elegant.
It was time for the Moody Blues Concert. They were kicking off their 2015 TIMELESS FLIGHT – THE POLYDOR YEARS – SPRING TOUR at Agua Caliente Casino
SOLD OUT!

After the concert we were checking Facebook and saw a post by Leslie, she was pricing wine.

We met up with Leslie and Laura Stokes in the casino.

We checked out Cabot's Old Indian Pueblo
It has an Native American art gallery and authentic trading post (gift shop),

Cabot's Old Indian Pueblo Museum is a Hopi-styled structure painstakingly
crafted over a 20-year period.

It's off to Lulu California Bistro in Palm Springs to take Jeannine out to dinner.
Dinner was great, lot of hors d'oeuvres and bottle of wine.

Afterwards walked up and down the street people watching.

This was big fight night and at one of the clubs called "Village Pub" they were showing the fight. People began to gather to watching it from the street, then from even a cross street. The cops and fire trucks where there, I'm sure they're over capacity. It was crazy.

Review - This is a nice gated campground with all the hookups.
If you play golf, they 9 holes here at the facility.
(but it's been hot over a 100°F)
Your not very spread out but it's quiet, maybe be folks were headed north.
There are a lot of permanent trailers and motorhomes.
Verizon is not good right here, depends on where you're sitting, but they do have WiFi and more then one dog area for them to run in.
There's so much to do here, pools and spas, but we're running out of time.
Next time we're in the area we want to check out Sam's Family Spa Hot Water Resort.
