San Diego - Sweetwater Campground Review

I'm sitting by a campfire cooking some duck warming my knees the thinking, are really doing this,
are we really living this lifestyle.
Yes We Are.

Derek stopped by, tried out the new ax cutting wood.

Kathy and her dollar kite trying to knock down one of those commercial airliners.

We had the grand opening of the “The Tiki Bar”,
We listened to Rock and Roll as Kathy snapped a picture of the sun going down.

Sweetwater Campground Review - The only problem is that we encountered, this bird pecking at chrome on one of the many rear wheels

and diamondback rattlesnakes.

This campground is a really cool, allot open space. I don't think you could ask for anything better but you will find yourself in the flight path of an airport. We were told by Terry, Kathy's sister, that the helicopters were military helicopters flying to Tucson. I can't do anything but salute them. We had 4G

Last day, we had many visitors, good times.
Time to move a couple of hours north, visit some friends and take care of some business.
Stay tuned...

San Diego – US Border Facility / Hodads / Rattle Snake shake / Candice

Kathy's sister Terri took us on a tour of the US Border Facility where she works. If you don't believe that they tear apart cars looking for drugs, take a look at these photos.

Hodads a Triple D restaurant is amazing... (Featured on Food Network)
The food was fantastic.
I had the Guido burger and Kathy had the Blue Jay.

Bucket O campground rattle snake.
As our neighbor exited is truck he noticed a limping little bunny rabbit, then almost stepped on the Diamond Back Rattler.

We headed down to Coronado Island for a visit with Derek and Kathy's niece Candice. We decided to meet at Miguel’s and have dinner.

Afterwards ice cream and a walk by the beach.

We are so proud of Candice and wish we could spend more time with her but it's time for her to study for upcoming finals, she's wrapping up her BA degree and San Diego.

San Diego - Sweetwater Campground California

Terri Tyer, Kathy's sister stopped by. She lives in
San Diego area and works down by the border.
We had dinner at Miguel's Restaurant

Derek came by he's in the Navy stationed in San
Diego. I cooked up some ribs and we sat around a campfire.

Dulzura Winery was very nice and across the little
bridge over some water.
It has a nice little tasting room and they had an observation deck in the middle of the vineyard.
Very relaxing, with a couple of glasses of wine.

The Motor Transport Truck Museum is somewhat confusing
they do some restorations. I wouldn't recommend it.

Last night’s barbecue (steak and chicken) with
Kathy’s sister Linda, her daughters Sabrina and Haley.

Who likes strawberry ice cream! A treat for us. They brought roses and bread.

This mornings camp fire, good bread doesn't go to waste.

Olive Avenue RV Resort / Vista California.

We just finished up a week here at Olive Avenue RV Resort / Vista California.
We had family drop by, Kathy Craig Mom Mary and two of my cousins Sherry and Maegan.
Mary stayed a couple of nights here so we had enough time to check out her rig and I replaced the sewer line for her.

We bought some LED lights for the camp site. Some light on our way path and the others are a couple of spots to light up are flamingos. Two of them don’t do any ting anymore because I accidentally smashed them with the side in the basement.

We made a trip up to Yorba Linda to pick up Mouse the Wonder Dachshund. She's such a good dog and we can’t thank Mindy and her and her family enough for watching her.

The campground itself is on a serious grade as you can see by this photo. They do supply you with blocks but it's not quite enough, given the length of the Seemore. They provide you with WiFi here and you'll need it, phone reception is not very good and unreliable, I guess Verizon doesn't cover this area right here. Not much room here. I have see camp sites closer together but otherwise the campground is very clean and well organized.

It's Mary's Coach House Platinum Class B Motorhome.

It's a Coach House Platinum Class B Motorhome.

This was a recent purchase by Kathy's mother Mary Tyer.
It’s a used motorhome but very clean.

Mary is 84 years young and ready to hit the road.

This is Kathy and her mom back in our Motorhome having tea.
Time for a spot of tea, Kathy just couldn't wait to break out the China,
Tea Party!

I think we have used the China twice in 31 years, now they are our everyday dishes.

The Coach House needed some new windshield wiper blades,
Mary had already picked them up, so I was happy to put them on.

It reminds me a lot of our class C

Avi Casino / KOA campground in Laughlin Nevada

It's time to leave and hit the road. We've been at Avi Casino / KOA campground in Laughlin Nevada for about 3 weeks. We accomplish everything that we wanted to. We have the motorhome loaded and about 98% organized. We have got everything inside the motorhome. I'm sure it'll be a process of trying to figure out what functions the best.

The basement was a little tricky'r, there's a lot of stuff in the basement.
This is the storage area that I use for the barbecue.

The fun part was trying to utilize this very small space in the basement. It is only 5 inches deep and Newmar put a pegboard there. You can't do much with it because a water tank is on the other side. After a lot of thought I ordered some clear acrylic organizers online
and
The Tiki Bar was born.

We got to spend a lot of time with the grandbabies. We took a trip to Oatman Arizona and we saw the London Bridge.
At the campground we stacked packing boxes with the kids and G-Babies, they loved pushing and kicking them over.

This was the first campground in the new motorhome. We had a very pleasant stay. We happen to get a place on the very end of the campground so it was rare when we had neighbors.

It was like camping on the beach with full hookups. Very sandy with no concrete pads.
Expect fireworks going off at night on this reservation. This place is pet friendly and it would have been nice to have our dog. As far as cell phone service, if was good, we have Verizon and had 4G in the campground.

It's time to head to San Diego California hang out with some of Kathy's family, our friends in the OC and pick up Mouse the gray haired wonder dachshund before we start heading north.
